Justice Nasirul Mulk becomes new CJ of Supreme Court of Pakistan

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and judges of Supreme Court were also present at the oath taking ceremony.
President of Pakistan, Mamoon Hussain, administered the oath to the new Chief Justice in a prestigious ceremony.
Justice Nasirul Mulk has replaced justice Tassaduq Hussain Jilani who retired from his position on July 5. Justice Nasirul Mulk will hold office until 16 August 2015.
Justice Nasirul Mulk was born on 17 Aug 1950 in Swat. He completed his degree of Bar-at-Law from Inner Temple London in 1977 and started practice in Peshawar. He was elected as Peshawar High Court Bar Association secretary in 1981 and president in 1991 and 1993.
Justice Nasirul Mulk was appointed as judge of Peshawar High Court on 4 June 1994 and became Chief Justice of the High Court in May 2004. He was later appointed a Judge of the Supreme Court on 5 April 2005. Justice Nasirul Mulk not only refused to take oath under the PCO after 3 November 2007, but also was part of the 7 member bench that denied issuing injunction against the emergency of November 3.
