Former Sindh home minister, Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza, has given out another bold statement in which he revealed he has been informed by President Asif Ali Zardari that Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) is planning to kill his son Hasnain Mirza and the local Sindh government Minister, Agha Siraj Durani.
Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza, who is affiliated with Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), in his exclusive interview told the Sindh TV that he has been informed about all this by the President of Pakistan. Dr. Mirza then accused former Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) intelligence officer and the current Interior Minister of Pakistan, Rehman Malik, of making plans to kill him.
“President Asif Ali Zardari phoned me and said MQM is planning to kill my son Hasnain Mirza and Sindh local government minister Agha Siraj Durrani while federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik is hatching a conspiracy to kill me,” Mirza told a Sindh TV channel (KTN) on Friday.
“The president also asked me to avoid meeting these people,” he said.
The rivalry between Dr. Mirza and Malik was created when Dr. Mirza not too long ago left everyone flabbergasted in a press-conference in Karachi by lifting Quran in his one hand and calling Rehman Malik as the biggest threat to the future of Pakistan. Dr. Mirza also claimed there that MQM works on an American agenda to break-up the country.
Dr. Mirza started the press-conference by officially announcing his retirement from the Sindh cabinet, the Sindh Assembly as well as his position of senior vice president in PPP.
Dr. Mirza was quoted saying, “Rehman Malik is such a compulsive liar that if he is having an apple when you call him, he will say he is having a banana.”
Dr. Mirza then turned everyone’s focus to MQM before insisting that MQM doesn’t have 100 percent mandate in Karachi.
Dr. Mirza said a few months back, “MQM does not have a 100% mandate in Karachi and Hyderabad, but I will admit that their guns successfully get them that mandate.”
