We dislike Americans for their honesty and commitment to their goal!

Irrespective of Osama bin Laden was actually killed or not in the Abbottabad operation, earlier this year.  It is imperative that one should take into consideration the hard work Americans have done, to do what the masses came to know through the electronic and print media.

After the operation, the chain of events leading to the final operations began to surface, which depicted the efforts of the concerned involved in the built-up of the operation.   Like many ordinary citizens in Pakistan, my initial reaction was same as most of the others.

However, later, something strikes my mind that has actually forced me to accept to the fact that in this whole episode, American party was most committed to their goal and that is why they achieved their goal. It is always helpful to have a basic set of principles to arrive at a decision and same holds true for making an approach about the achievement of others.

In this case, the underlying principal was simple. For Americans, Osama was enemy number one and they have publically claimed that they can go to any extent to achieve their objectives regarding Osama. The second party involved in the incident was the Government of Pakistan (GOP), whose role was to safeguard the Pakistan’s sovereignty, which they failed to keep intact.

Whatever means American has utilized to seek their goal, in principle they should not be blamed for using them.   On the contrary, can we say the same, for our officials and concerned. I am afraid no! As the details later revealed that American were able to develop their own network within Pakistan, in presence of so-called Pakistan governance system and officials.

It is easy to write, read, think or say that it all has happened in presence of governance structure of a sovereign country and institutions.  After such situation, we should ask ourselves the question that where was the error.

The answer lies in a harsh fact that many amongst us, particularly those working in the government and masses in general are not honest and committed to their selves and to their roles and jobs in either society or the government structure.

Government has more control over their employees and lesser on the masses, yet if the government cannot enforce honesty in their employees, it is illogical to put blame on the others. While the general perception and observation of the most is that these personals are dishonest, strangely they are given higher ratings for their honesty in their annual appraisals.

This overlooking and careless measurement of such important behaviour over the years has created a lay back approach to their roles in their daily work. Hardly few own their work and understand their responsibility in the system and its impact on the society. The bitter reality remains that American honesty and commitment actually have defeated us.

It is not the end of the time, and the attributes such as honesty and commitment to their objectives, will remain with the human race in our forth-coming generations.

As the escape goat, the nation and the opinion makers can blame American for their mal intentions to the Pakistan.  It also provides us an opportunity that we can see the problems within ourselves and take measures to address them.  However, it is a difficult and painstaking task, so it is not feasible for us as we can continue to dislike Americans for their Honesty and commitment to their goal, and blame them for our own problems.
