Newly elected Cabinet of ANP takes oath in Chitral

The Oath taking ceremony of the newly elected office bearers of Awami National Party (ANP) was held on Saturday, October 16, 2011.

Haji Hidayatullah, Provincial Minister for Livestock, took the oath in a formal but simple ceremony at Governor Cottage Chitral. Provincial General Secretary of ANP Tajuddin, Imran Afridi, Shuaib Khan, and President ANP Malakand participated in the ceremony as witnesses. Govt. officials, political leaders, social workers, members of civil society and journalists were also present on the occasion.

Provincial Minister Haji Hidayatullah congratulated the elected ANP member after administering the oath. He reminded them of great responsibility they now bear on their shoulders to serve the local people of their area and act as a team to help progress ANP in leaps and bounds.

The other ANP officials also congratulated the elected members and encouraged them to keep up the good work and wish everyone best of luck in their responsibilities as ANP office bearers.

Addressing on the occasion provincial Minister Hidayatullah said, “ANP is a party that believes in the none-aggressive political philosophy of Bacha Khan and that he has always been fond of Chitral for its peace and serenity.”

He added, out of 110 billion rupees earmarked by federal government to the province, a huge chunk would be invested in Chitral for the improvement of power supply and augmentation of voltage of electricity. He said that the development of Chitral is the utmost priority of the provincial government of ANP and they will ensure that all the roads are metalled in the entire district.

Minister Hidayatullah said that Abdul Wali Khan University Campus is a great gift for the young generation of the district that would provide them with an opportunity to get quality education at doorstep. The minister stressed upon party workers to work hard and to utilize all the available resources to serve the local people of Chitral. In addition to that, a cooperative bank will be opened soon that will provide interest free loans to students who aspire to pursue their degrees but could not do so due to financial arrangements.

Later, the provincial Minister took a tour of the nine-day training on Human rights, political concepts, good governance and leadership skill. He talked to participants and talked about the progress of the training. Minister also talked about released 2 billion for Lowari tunnel.
