Veena Malik denies dating Ashmit Patel

Famous Pakistani actress, Veena Malik has denied reports that she was dating with Bollywood film actor, Asmit Patel. Both of them were seen visiting the Ajmer Sharif Dargah which created a question about the status of their relationship and religion. On the other hand, Veena and Ashmit have also been constantly refusing news about their off-screen romance.

Speaking to the media and giving her stance on the rumours which have been circulating around the whole industry, Veena said, “I didn’t go to Ajmer, I went to the Nizamuddin Auliya in Delhi to pray and Ashmit happened to be there for a friend’s wedding. Ashmit has a great regard for all religions and even in the Bigg Boss house we used to do namaz together. So he decided to come with me to the dargah.”

Veena also mentioned that she and Ashmit are not going to get married next year. She cleared that Ashmit is only good friend. The duo was really close with each other and she admitted that Ashmit is her only friend in India.

She added, “He cares for me, but I am not dating him. Just because we are seen together and hang out doesn’t mean we are in love. There are, however, lots of things that we plan to do together, like charity work in Pakistan. “I am totally single.”

Veena has been doing work as a representative at the World Health Organization for the past two years. She also sponsors a child at the SOS children’s Village, an NGO which works with under-privileged children.

She has also performed in movies such as ‘Kabhi Pyar Na Karna’ and ‘Ishq Beparwaah’ in 2008, and also worked in ‘Koi Tujh Sa Kahan’ and ‘Kyun Tum Se Itna Pyar Hai’ in 2005.

Veena added that she will be working in three other Bollywood films. One of her upcoming projects is Zindagi 50-50, a movie which she is doing for a particular reason as it is a women-centric movie, dealing with their different issues. To spice up the movie’s release, Veena has also performed in a Bollywood item song namely, “Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya”.

Big Boss perhaps, has not earned good respect for Veena in the Pakistani community, but the reality show has paved way for her to become a part of Bollywood’s industry. With the amount of work she is currently doing in India’s industry, all is left to see whether the Pakistani actress is able to make a mark across the border.
