Increasing injustice is a big dilemma of Pakistan’s society
Increasing injustice is a big dilemma of Pakistan’s today’s society, as you can witness many examples of it in the daily newspapers and media.
Although, there are plenty of reasons of this prevailing inequality, but the biggest one is the unavailability of free judicial system. The judicial system of any country is usually above the government, but the situation in Pakistan is far different.
Recently, there have been seen some up-gradations in the system since the reinstatement of Supreme Court Judge Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry. However, the crime rate and other social issues are increasing day-by-day, which are a living example of injustice.
The other key cause of injustice in Pakistan is corruption; one could hardly find an institute or organization in Pakistan deprived of this curse. Pakistan’s police is apparently for the safety of the citizens and is to maintain law and order in the country; but unfortunately, it is considered one of the most corrupt institutes of Pakistan, as recently it has totally failed to cope up with increasing terrorism and crime rate. There are many cases reported, where police imprisons innocent people while releases the culprits for bribing money.
The recent target killing in Karachi is one of the biggest examples, where our law and order maintaining institutes failed to overcome the situation for a longer period of time. The people of the city were brutally killed for nothing, without any discrimination of age group, as the innocent children were also became the victims of the terrorists. Who is going to provide justice to those people, who lost their dear ones?
Other than this, the vicious killing of two brothers’ Mughees and Muneeb in Sialkot by an SHO, last year, was an example of injustice in Pakistan. The SHO tortured the two brothers openly to death, but no one took quick notice of the incident. Although, the criminals were sentenced to death last month, by an anti-terrorism court, but the Lahore High Court has suspended the sentence of SHO and six other police officers involved releasing them on bail. Who could give assurance that the culprits will be taken to their task?
These incidents are just a quick look of injustice in Pakistan; however, the issue is vast, needing much more to reveal and many other areas to cover.
