Noted Pakistani film-maker, Mehreen Jabbar has finalized the Junaid Khan and Sana Saeed in her latest drama serial named “Mata-e-Jaan”.
A daughter to a film maker, Mehreen found exposure at her door steps. She geared up her skills after completing her film making studies from UCLA, America.
She has a track record of producing and directing a number of award winning telefilms and TV serials, started her career from Karachi. She directed her first play at the age of 23 in 1994 and since then she has provided the audience with art films, commercial serials and series for television.
In the latest effort of the talented director, Junaid Khan and Sanam Saeed are selected to take the leading roles in the play which will be aired at HUM TV in December Hopefully.
Junaid, who is known for his musical band “call”, has already worked in three acting serials before. While the young, beautiful and brand Ambassador of L’Oreal- Sanam Saeed is known for her electrifying theatrical performances in “Chicago” and “Mama Mia”.
The serial is based on a novel written by the famous Urdu novelist, Farhan Ishtiaq which tells the story of a couple which struggle to find love for each other. The love story is based upon a US born girl and a Pakistani boy.
Bilal Khan, who is known for his debut song “Bachana”, is set to sing the title song for Mehreen Jabbar’s upcoming serial and he is adamant that the song will hit the stores no earlier than November.
Having won people’s choice award for her movie “Ramchand Pakistani” in the prestigious Fribourg International Film Festival in Switzerland, the 39-year-old is recognized for her fabulous work throughout the world.
Speaking on her love for direction, she said:
“I find directing is my forte because this is how I love telling stories. Directing is like giving birth, creating, and moulding.”
She added: “There are not so many Pakistani films being shown in India as compared to the Indian films being shown in Pakistan. I can tell you about the art scene in Pakistan, it’s booming! Lots of cultural activities take place and especially music is doing well. What needs to be improved is TV and Films.”
