Puss in Boots – Looking Good Never Looked So Good, is a spin-off movie from the Shrek, a famous green ogre, movie series. The cute little hero Puss along with his sidekicks, Humpty Dumpty and Kitty Softpaws, will hit the big screens on October 28th worldwide and on November 6th in Pakistan.
Long before Puss met Shrek, he was an adventurous cat and a saviour of the poor and the needy. He finds out two dangerous outlaws: Jack voiced by Billy Bob Thornton and Jill voiced by Amy Sedaris, are seeking a historical power which can vanquish the world. The legendary cat, voiced by Antonio Banderas, sets on a journey with his friend Dumpty, the mastermind who intends to retrieve the Golden Eggs, to stop them. Dumpty also introduces Puss, Softpaws who later becomes Puss’s female counterpart. She is voiced by Salma Hayek, a famous Hollywood actress mainly known for her superb acting in film Frida.
The computer animated adventure film, produced by DreamWorks Animation is based on the character first appeared in the movie, Shrek 2. Due to his irresistible cuteness and actions, the character was praised a lot resulting in getting a permanent role in Shrek series. In Shrek the Third, Puss helped Shrek and Fiona run in the place of the ailing King. He also helps Shrek and Donkey to find the heir to the throne. In the fourth instalment of Shrek series, the lovely cat is seen as a regular guest in the ogre’s home. He later rejoin’s Shrek in the alternate reality and helps him re-create his romantic spark.
The movie is in productions since 2004 when the character was first introduced. It was planned to release direct to video but the plan changed in 2006. The co-writer David H. Steinberg said, “It doesn’t overlap with Shrek at all. Partly that was done to tell an original Puss story, but partly because we didn’t know what Shrek 4 were going to do with the characters and we couldn’t write conflicting storylines.”
No one can resist seeing the cute little Puss’s legendary, mythical and historical journey and even if you decide not to see, your children will force you to go to the cinemas nearby.
