According to a report from the French national laboratory revealed that smoking Sheesha gives off as much carbon monoxide as 15 to 52 cigarettes and as much tar as 27 to 102 cigarettes.
Bertrand Dautzenberg, OFT President said, “The report confirms that smoking Sheesha is a major source of air pollution in closed and covered areas. If comparing the data to regular cigarette smoke, one Sheesha corresponds to an average of around 70 drags on a cigarette.”
Despite that, Sheesha smoking is on the rise in the twin cities and its turning out to be a modern way of addiction.
The Sheesha craze is spreading among the youngsters in the federal capital like a bush fire and this menace is rapidly infecting the students.
The phenomenon has been growing rapidly and the Sheehsa Houses have been established in all the posh localities and the mushroom growth of the smoking dens is attracting the youth.
The addictions is making large number of school and college students of both genders belonging to under 18 age group, hang out at these Sheesha houses because they can freely smoke and satiate their desire their without any hurdle.
Especially those children, who are below the age of eighteen and cannot, buy cigarettes fill up the sheesha houses which are located at different places throughout the city.
These Sheesha Houses can be found at Damn-e-Koh, Shakerpariyan, Melody market, Rose and Jasmine Garden, Jangal Hut and some other upper class restaurants, hotels and clubs to have a puff or two.
The medical experts take on this growing practice and perceived to be harmless than cigarettes is that the whole process is deceptive through different flavors as people find it appealing in taste while being putting them in dark about its lethal affects on health.
The self-lighting carbon in both large and small amounts for nicotine measured about one cigarette per Sheesha, while the natural carbon was the nicotine equivalent of smoking six cigarettes.
Social Health organizations in the capital have openly said that the intake of Hookah through a pipe could cause diseases like cancer or other ailments.
