What are recent singers pointing at – Revolution?
Saturday, October 22nd, 2011 7:17:29 by Fahad ZafarRevolution is a word that has rocked the world in recent past. Egypt, Syria and Lebanon have been the latest examples of this phenomenon and it seems like Pakistan will soon embrace it as well or at-least that is what our singers are point at.
A layer of patriotism is what is required to bring revolution and using the strongest medium to spread your word is the smartest way to pass on your message. Our singers are doing that and now it’s time for people to stand up and support them.
When an innocent person is unable to tolerate anymore cruelty at the hands of his master, his innermost anguish, hatred and desperation burst out and unites everyone of his kind under one umbrella in no time. Life of a layman in Pakistan is miserable; no security of life, wealth, health, family anything. There is a need for us to unite and stand up for our basic rights.
Pakistan is in the midst of massive turmoil and it seems like some of the Pakistani artists can feel the need for a change and are expressing their thoughts via songs. Revolution is not brought by fictitious movies like Reema’s ‘Luv mein ghum’; it is brought by something like ‘Bol’. It is not brought by acting fake like Sahir Lodhi and Veena Malik; it is brought by icons like Imran Khan who strive for the right.
Ali Azmat, Strings, Shahzad Roy, Soch and EP have laid the foundation for something extraordinary to happen; everyone can relate to every word sung by them. Songs like ‘Ma to dekhounga’ and ‘Ab Tou Kuch Kerna Paray Ga’ by Strings Bilal Maqsood clearly depicts the utmost need for us to unite and stand up.
Faisal Kapadia, a famous Pakistani actor, said “It’s hard to make love songs in our country” and it’s true. Pakistan is going through the worst times and is worsening day by day; hyper inflation, political instability, immorality, US drone attacks and you can keep counting them because they never stop coming. There is definitely a need of massive rehabilitation and that can only be brought by revolution.
Shahzad Roy, after the success of ‘Laga Reh’ has released ‘Uth Bandh Kamar Kya Darta Hai, Phir Dekh Khuda Kya Kerta Hai’, similerly Ali Azmat’s ‘Bum Phatta’ is like another step to revolution. Music band EP is also crying out loud for revolution with his ‘Shor Macha’. Young talented band Soch has also came up with an idea and portrayed that in their song ‘Uth Jawana’ in favor of Imran Khan’s Tahreek-e-Insaaf.
These songs might not be taken seriously but one thing is for sure that Pakistan is in desperate need for a mega revolution at all levels to bring back peace, humanity and security to lives of the citizens. It might not be easy and will require young blood but it will definitely help to nurture our next generation in much more safe and fruitful environment. Think about it, how long will you bear all this?….Long Live Pakistan!
