Injustice and corruption – Part Two

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) once said that there was a nation which was destroyed by God because the rich got away with all their doings and the poor had to face punishment for even the smallest of the crimes.

Today National Reconciliation Order (NRO) is part of our law which has given cover to the corruption to a huge number of elites.

Bribe is so much common in our culture that it is probably not even considered as a sin anymore. Then I question to myself that are we really the believers of that Prophet (PBUH) who said that, “Anyone who gives and takes bribe will go to hell”.

Corruption and injustice has led us into such a dark room where we grope, stumble, fumble and shuffle but find no ray of light which can lead us out of this trap. What not corruption has given us except sense of proportion. It has given us everything a wild virtue, a good sin, a pure pollution, a venerable vice, a rusty coin, and every supreme of all evils.

Today our heaven like country has become the prostitution of the corrupted people. These corrupt people are diffusing in the society, in the religion, in the nation and in all the sects of the society. Thus I become a mouth to bellow that corruption has eaten into values of society.

At every corner of this land and in every field of life, merit is being humiliated in a brutal manner. In order to get a good job one has to have a strong reference or has to give a handsome amount of bribe, rather than fulfilling the required credentials. The injustice in our society starts from the grass-root level as we do not have an equal standard of education for our children. The children of rich study in English medium schools having all the modern day facilities, whereas, the children of the poor study in schools which do not even fulfill the definition of a school. Then there is a middle class as well which is hanging in between of nowhere. We live in a society where there are different standards and laws for different classes, religion and sects, and yet we are confused that why are we facing problems after problems.

The need of the hour for us as a nation is to change our whole attitude towards life. We have to hold those people accountable who have looted this nation’s hard earned money with both hands. Let us all start a new beginning and develop a society where justice has to prevail and not for any specific class but for each and every individual and in every field of life.

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said that, “A moment of justice is better than thousands of years of worship”.
