Muammar Gaddafi taken for secret burial far into Sahara desert, says NTC

The interim governing body National Transitional Council (NTC) has declared the completion of final Muslim rites and burial of Muammar Gaddafi into the deeps of Sahara desert.

The final prayers for the corpse of the 69-year old leader were held at the Misrata. Dead bodies of Gaddafi and his son Mo’tassim were removed from the local market cold store at Misrata, where they were put for show to confirm their death to the Libyan people.

The bodies were reported to be decaying very quickly since he was killed after captivity. After he was shot dead by the soldiers he was kept in the cold store due a dispute on the final resting place for the former Libyan leader.

The Western allies forced the NTC to quickly decide the place for his burial and conduct the final Muslim rites. The allies also questioned to inquire the scene of his death and confirm the incident as it happened.

A taken footage from a mobile phone was viewed during the investigation, which revealed that Gaddafi was alive after he was tortured in captivity. Later he was shot in head.

A NTC official, Abdel Majid Mlegta confirmed Gaddafi’s burial, “The process leading to his burial is taking place now. Only two trusted people were assigned to this secret mission. These are not guards, but very trusted NTC people.”

The final prayers were conducted by Gaddafi’s close cleric Khaled Tantoush. He was also arrested with former Libyan leader during the crackdown at Misrata.

Two cousins of Gaddafi, Mansour Dhao Ibrahim and Ahmed Ibrahim were also present at the final rites conducted for him. They both were also captured during a NATO air-strike over Gaddafi’s convoy at his home town.

“The NTC officials were handed the body after the sheikh completed the early morning ceremony and are taking him somewhere very far away into the desert. Trust me, it takes time and the burial will take place far away from the media.”Mlegta further added.

NTC also claimed that the procedure will assure that his grave does not become a site for shrine, by the people who followed the Gaddafi.
