Why Money is Mandatory for Marriage?

Why do we marry? The very simple answer to this question by a common man can be that we do it to in a bid to regulate our sexual and social lives. There is no need to prove this fact with arguments and evidences that how much marriage is necessary in the life of a person who poses to be a human being with a specific set of needs like love, care and most of all sex. But despite all this, why do we not perform this social, religious and instinctive obligation in a simple, straight-forward and easy way? Why do we have to move between heavens and earth to amass abundant  wealth to get married? Just for exploitative social norms and self-made pseudo status quo.

In Pakistani society, marriage has become a business which requires heavy investment and huge arrangement. It is no more left a human need which is essential to be catered at the very level of puberty. No way at all! First you will have to work like a burden of beast for at least a decade, then you are in a position to merely think of applying for a life partner.

It will not be wrong to say that due to the increasing involvement of money factor in the marriage sector, moral corruption has increased manifold. Delayed marriages, along with their physical and medical implications, are creating a number of social problems as well. Young males and females are resorting to unfair, inhuman and immoral ways to satisfy their natural and biological need.

A male, who gains puberty approximately at the age of 14, has to wait until the age of 30 or 35 for having a wedlock with a female. In the same way, a female has to collect heaps of dowry for ensuring her survival in the house of her in-laws and this process takes a long time. During these intervening years, both the sexes have to wait, suffer, endure and repress—these factors create many psychological, physical and emotional problems for them. But who cares for this? No one! Because our egos and social statuses are dearer to us than anything else.

With all these killing and fucking norms being an indispensible part of our culture, can be claim to be human beings? Certainly not! But we do even then, because we do not have conscientious. We have rubbished human ethics and adopted a set of uncanny values which we are proud of, unfortunately and shamefully.

What do we need to do is just to set aside our egos and think as a human. In this way and only in this way, we can be able to set up a healthy, happy and fair society.
