Falling in love with an engaged woman is not disgraceful (Part 2)
Wednesday, October 26th, 2011 1:26:12 by Muhammad Qasim HassanMost of the times, the woman confuses engagement with actual marriage and starts acting like a wife, while the man continues to either have his fun or hunt for someone better. The woman becomes blind to the love that is staring right into her eyes and remains focused on a man who could simply be using her as a back-up in case he fails to trap a more rich, beautiful and naive woman. The phrase that “men are dogs” wasn’t just appeared out of thin air; it actually has solid evidence backing it. The credit should simply be given to the men for doing an extremely good job of keeping the evidence hidden from the naive females.
When the divorce rate is compared to the rate of broken engagements, the results are mind-boggling. While the exact figure is difficult to quote, the ratio lies somewhere close to 1:9. This indicates that something is definitely wrong somewhere.
Every woman is born a princess and she deserves to be treated like one. The responsibility of ensuring that your loved one is granted her birth-right falls upon nobody but you. Therefore, stop letting an engagement ring stand between you and your loved one and do what you must to win her heart. The deed is shameful only because the society has made it look that way. Looking at the number of broken engagements, the dog-like attributes of men and the realization that nobody can love this particular woman the way you can love her, there is nothing to feel guilty or immoral about. Love knows no boundaries, so stop drawing them because that would hardly make a difference. You will keep on loving the woman and getting tortured until she gets married to the man who was fooling around all this time.
There are people who might find my opinion about engagement outrageous and accuse me of promoting an immoral practice by encouraging people to pursue their loved ones without taking the “engaged” status into account. Here is a fun fact for those righteous people: Engagement and the concept of exchanging rings have been adapted from Judaism. Rather than following the practice of Islam, we are adopting a practice that is common among the Jews. While nobody has the right to tell anyone how to live their lives and what practices to follow or not, the same way nobody has the right to tell you whom to fall in love with and whom to stay clear of, as long as the woman is not married.
