I need a Tablet in my life…. Or do i?

I need a Tablet in my life…. Or do i? Tablets, tablets and tablets, it is a frenzy that has always left me with a lingering question. Do I need one or do I just want one? There were tablets before the time of Apple’s iPad, yes it’s true! Apple did not invent the tablet, there I said it. Amazon’s Kindle albeit limited in the tasks it was able to perform, was there way before Apple came up with its iPad yet most of us did not know it or never thought about it. When apple does anything it is “revolutionary”. Do not get me wrong I love Apple, they have made my life much more complicated, as the race of the iPhones, Macbooks, and iPads is a little too much to handle for a man with constricted finances, but it one feels as if it fits perfectly in Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. I should not digress though; coming back to the topic, the question remains unanswered. Most of us looking at these tablets, already have a Smartphone and a laptop, I am assuming here I know, but it is an educated guess, don’t believe me look around you. So now that it is settled, let us move on, we can use our Smartphone for making and receiving calls, send and receiving text messages, and if we need to send free texts, we can always depend on the ever growing market of apps for our respective Smartphones and download a free internet enabled app to do that simple task. We can easily use maps, compass, a calculator, calendar, organizer, alarms internet browsing and even use flashlights using just our Smartphones. That really is a lot with such a small device, but what if we need to work on heavier projects like presentations, downloading videos or songs, being mobile with a laptop is not hard either, that was the initial point behind owning a laptop and that is why we paid the big bucks for it. By now you and I are thinking the same thing, at least I hope I am not taking the viewer’s intellect for granted in assuming this, so now that you have thought long and hard, we finally are thinking the same thing. What do I need the Tablet for? I can send emails from my tablet said the geeky kid, well so can I from my Laptop and my Smartphone, OH! Aaa..well I can play games on it. Buddy so can I on both of my devices. The bemused kid is my alter ego, so no need to feel sorry for him. So what is it that is left here, I have a better camera on my Smartphone, both devices are very mobile friendly, and there is not a thing that I am not able to do on them that a tablet can. That leaves with only one conclusion to this debate. It is a toy that adolescents and adults alike want to play with regardless of its practical usage in our daily lives. It is an over hyped, over expensive, luxury that a common man does not need. Trust me you will regret buying a tablet in first three days of purchasing one, how can I be so sure you may ask? Well if you were sleeping through my article, I will leave you with the gist of it. My geeky alter ego beat me to it, and I regrettably purchased a Samsung Galaxy Tab, and three days into it, I do not find a proper use for it in my daily life, other than the little matter of performing the exercise of dusting off the tablet before going to sleep, after all I may need it one day and it needs to be clean!.
