In a recent vote-out survey conducted by the guitarworld.com, Michael Angelo Batio, has been rated as the fastest guitar player of all time, surpassing mega legends such as Steve Vai, John Petrucci, Yngwie Malmsteen, Joe Satriani and many more.
Although it may always remain to be a perennial argument as to who may be regarded as the best or the fastest guitarists (both being two different dimensions) of all time; but Batio’s rapid fire, fret-burning talent, topped with up-tempo rhythm and melody work has surely won the hearts of a massive lot.
Mike Batio, also known as MAB, has grown over the years to be considered as one of finest guitar players, honouring numerous genres but most importantly his all time favourite – metal and its subgenres.
In 2003, the maestro was voted as the “No. 1 Shredder of All Time” by Guitar One Magazine, and then as the “Top 100 Greatest Metal Guitarists of All Time” by Guitar World Magazine, and one of the “20 Greatest Shredders of All Time” by Total Guitar Magazine, both in April 2008. Batio also won the 2009 Guitar World Magazine Readers Choice award in the “Best Shredder” category.
