Continued from the previous part …
Jinnah said, "It is extremely difficult to appreciate why our Hindu friends fail to understand the real nature of Islam and Hinduism. They are not religious in the strict sense of the word, but are, in fact, different and distinct social orders; and it is
only a dream that the Hindus and Muslims can ever evolve a common nationality.”
Congress’ behavior during their ministries from 1937 till 1939 further pushed the nail in the coffin and proved the Muslims of India that Congress is not their representative and it is never going to fight for their rights. This was the time during which
Quaid strengthened the position of Muslim League and was able to create this awareness amongst the Muslims that they must support Muslim League, if they want to appropriate right for them in India.
Congress’ behavior forced the Muslims to demand their separate homeland in 1940 during the Lahore Resolution, which was later named as Pakistan Resolution. Quite amazingly, the Muslims were able to achieve their own country under the inspirational leadership
of Jinnah within seven years of the resolution.
The role of Allama Mohammad Iqbal cannot be neglected here as he gave the ideal about a separate homeland for Muslims for the first time during his address Alahabad. He played a great role in creating awareness amongst the Muslim masses in South Asia.
Hero of Muslims is the foe of the Hindus and vice-versa, they neither inter-marry nor inter-dine. The realization about the fact that Muslims and Hindus are totally different nations did not come along overnight. It was a process of centuries. Quaid e Azam
Mohammad Ali Jinnah once said that, “Pakistan came into being the day, the first non-Muslim entered the fold of Islam in sub-continent.”
“This misconception of one Indian Nation has troubles and will lead India to destruction if we fail to revise our notions in time. The Hindus and Muslims belong to two different religious philosophies, social customs, literatures,” Quaid
added.
Some people say that the Two Nation Theory came to an end when Pakistan was dismembered in 1971. However, this argument would have been logical had East Pakistan merged with India, instead of becoming a separate Muslim country.
Pakistan is an ideological state and its people must preserve the Two Nation Theory. Otherwise its existence is going to become unlawful.
