Apple announces its new Macbook Pro with a cheaper price tag
Friday, October 28th, 2011 3:41:59 by Usman KhalidApple, Inc. announced the revised version of the Macbook Pro this week. The new 15-inch model has revamped specifications that are subtle to notice but when compared with the new price tag, they emerge in clear contrast with the older version release earlier
this year.
The processor has been improved to 2.2 GHz second generation Core i7 (Quad Core) which is upgradable to 2.4 GHz.
The hard drive has been reduced to 500 GB from 750 in the new $1753 model however; still the newer version is a good bargain for the money spent.
The RAM is the same 4 GB DDR3 SSD Memory in the fall-edition as it was in the expensive sibling of the spring.
The predecessor had a price tag of $1900 which was still an expansive deal for those who want a powerhouse encapsulated in a laptop.
The revised version has all that is necessary for a powerful machine but with fewer gismos to deal with price fight in the market.
Bluetooth 2.1 and WiFi IEEE 802.11n are the standard features in the machine however; on the downside, Apple still shows resistance to include USB 3.0 to its models and instead there is Thunderbolt I/O nestled in the left edge alongside two USB 2.0 ports,
Firewire 800, MegaSage power input, Audio input/output and SD card reader.
The right side has a DVD ±RAM drive capable of burning DVDs at 8x speed. There is an HD camera for FaceTime video chat on the top of the screen.
Although the thunderbolt port works fine with other gadgets but a converter is still required because of the compatibility issues.
The new machine has the same 15.5-inch full HD AMLED screen with 1440 by 900 resolution powered by a 512 MB GPU (upgradable to 1 GB) that has the capability of enhancing the resolution to 2560 by 1600 on external displays.
The lithium-polymer battery allows 7 hours of the work time on the machine and is chargeable with the MegaSafe power adaptor. The 15-inch laptop comes in two denominations, 2.2 GHz and 2.4 GHz.
