A recent announcement revealed that Shehrbano Taseer is going to be awarded the Human Rights First honour award in light of the death of Salman Taseer. The award is being given to the daughter in identification of the courage and determination Shehrbano
has shown after the tragic death of her father.
The award will be given to Shehrbano Taseer in New York City, where the event will be hosted by the a contempary and leading American anchor, Brain Williams. Williams plays host to the popular television show by the name of NBC Nightly News. The proceeding
will take place in the form of a dinner that will be honoured by the presence of various important figures. To name a few, the award function will be attended by the celebrated activist belonging to Egypt, Basem Fathy. She will be accompanied by the daughter
of the late Pakistani Punjab governor, Salamn Taseer. Shehrbano Taseer has made her individual mark by acting as a courageous journalist in these troubled times.
The award that the daughter of the assassinated Punjab governor will receive is the creation of the artist Jenny Holzer. Holzer herself is an award holder in her field of expertise.

Shehrbano Taseer stands prominent in her area of expertise as she is out spoken and touches on issues which others dare not go near to. Her input proved to be of indispensible value at the United Nation Human Rights Council. The Council was discussing a
major resolution that concerned issues related to violence, human rights, religious extremism. Shehrbano played an instrumental part in making the resolution see the light of day in numerous conflicting views that were prevalent.
