The shrinking job market opportunities and exceedingly expensive education
Friday, October 28th, 2011 8:11:49 by Anita KhalidIt would not take very long to see the higher education getting out of the realm of the middle class soon too. It is now that poor cannot manage it and it will be only the rich who will be enjoying it in near future with them then dominating the left over
job chance thus, rightly said that the middle class is diminishing at a rate that sometime down the lane it would not even exist. This is also reflective of the fact that the rich are getting rich and will also keep getting rich.
Even after the endless sacrifices on the part of the family and the student themselves, their venture into the job market finds them at a loss as usual. There are way many expectations attached from the individual or individuals that after getting the degree
they will be able to start reaping the profits of the investment that was put into the education throughout the decades.
The expectations go in vain when not a month, six months but more than year takes that ‘degree holder’ to find the least bit compatible job with reasonable compensation and policies. Even if keeping only the higher education phase in mind, there is somehow
or the other always more spent than gained back from the ‘job’.
Leaving the job scenario alone for a while let’s just take the very usual example of internship requirement that the degree demands in order for completion. First step, you need to have more than 75% contacts in the city and believe me even that sometimes
leaves one ‘internshipless’. All expenditure for actualizing this venture is borne by the beloved and the so called ‘stipend’ does not even fall enough for the fuel that is required for reaching the far corners of the city.
Well this marks only the beginning of the weight that is never balanced and is to go way more imbalanced in the future which would deprive many of what they can right now at least manage after sacrificing different wants and desires of life.
