Dengue claims four more lives in Lahore, death toll reaches 317

 

 

According to reports from the various hospitals and healthcare centres, four more people have lost the battle against dengue in Lahore, on Friday, October 28. The total death toll due to dengue pandemic has increased to 317 in the provincial capital during
the last two months.

After the research findings, 72-year-old Nisar and 15-year-old Uzma succumbed to dengue virus in the Services Hospital. Meanwhile, Fazilat, 55, a resident of Begum Kot and Ramzan, 80, an inhabitant of Sheikhupura lost their lives due to dengue fever in the
Mayo Hospital, on Friday.

According to the latest research reports from the various hospitals and healthcare centres, around about 45 new dengue cases had been reported at the Mayo Hospital during the last 24 hours, in Lahore, on Friday. Almost 15 dengue patients were tested positive
at the Children’s Hospital, 21 in the Jinnah Hospital and 47 in the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.

In addition, more or less 45 new dengue cases were reported in the Services Hospital, 7 in the Lahore General Hospital and 16 in the Shaikh Zayed Hospital. Moreover, 10 dengue patients were tested positive in the Institute of Public Health. Around about
95 new dengue cases had been reported at the various public and private hospitals, laboratories and clinics in the provincial capital during the last 24 hours, on Friday.

The research findings revealed that approximately 315 dengue patients had been reported, increasing the total number of dengue victims to 29,506 in Punjab. What more alarming was that around about 220 new dengue cases had been reported, increasing the total
number of dengue suffers to 18,492, in Lahore alone.

On the other hand, 412 dengue patients were tested positive in Islamabad. Additionally, 436 dengue patients were registered in Nishtar Hospital. According to reports from Punjab Health Department, 245 dengue patients have been recovered and discharged from
the various healthcare centres, clinics and hospitals in Lahore, on Friday.

Around about 70 dengue patients were cured and discharged from the Mayo Hospital, 34 from the LGH and 8 from the Said Mitha Hosptial. In addition, 27 dengue patients had been cured and discharged from the Services Hospital, 34 from the Jinnah Hospital and16
from the Kot Khawaja Saeed Hospital. Furthermore, 14 dengue victims had been recovered and discharged from the Mian Munshi Hospital, 35 from the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, 2 from the Nawaz Sharif Hospital and 3 from the Children’s Hospital during the last 24
hours, in Lahore, on Friday.

So far, 19,319 dengue patients have been restored to health and discharged from the hospitals and healthcare centres due to the humanitarian efforts of the hospitals, nurses and paramedical staff in Punjab. Approximately 16489 dengue patients have been recovered
and discharged from the various hospitals and clinics in Lahore alone.
