Maid: The serpent in disguise (Part 2)

Part 2

The increasing dependency on the maid is leading to greater opportunities for her to clean more than just your house. With an army of kids, a useless husband at home, and the evident fact that her employer is far more blessed than her, the maid finds little
reason to uphold her morality and refrain from lying, stealing or even engineering a robbery in the house.

Many people might be getting confused regarding the role of a maid in an armed robbery. There is an extremely simple explanation to this. The maid cleans your entire house, knows exactly where what possession lies, is completely aware of the routine of all
the members in the house and knows exactly when the house is most vulnerable. The sharing of this information with an accomplice – which may be her husband or boyfriend – helps them in devising a fool-proof robbery plan.

There is also a huge misconception that poor people are not smart. An analysis of the maid’s modus operandi reveals mind-boggling facts. Ever heard the maid compliment something lying in the house or someone’s clothes, going like “wow this must be really
expensive”? She is basically putting her knowledge of human psychology to use in order to encourage the other person to brag about the price of that item and thus spill the beans on its real value. This helps the maid in deciding whether the risk of swiping
that item is worth it.

Human psychology is not the only weapon at a maid’s disposal. Her stealth skills, her memory and her ability to manipulate people by gaining their trust and later using it to her advantage reveal her to be an extremely smart person and thus a deadly threat.
Just because she does not have a degree from some university to boast often mislead everyone into believing that she’s not capable of outsmarting or threatening them.

With the maid culture extremely popular in Pakistan, especially in the posh areas such as Defence and Model Town, it is fair to state that we are sitting on a time-bomb that can explode anytime. Those who are under the impressive that they are pretty safe
because they have their mother, sister, mother-in-law or someone else sitting at home and keeping an eye on the maid, they are not completely out of danger as the women of their house stand no chance against the cunning mind of the maid.

The threat can be eliminated if the people take responsibility of their house and do everything with their own hands, be it cleaning, cooking, laundry, utensils, etc. The Americas are doing it, why can’t we do it as well? It is time to take this lingering
threat seriously before you become a victim to it yourself. If you are not bothered about the small crimes that she is committing every day – such as stealing from your fridge, your cupboard, your drawer –  then I am sure you’ll definitely get bothered when
she calls in back-up to carry out something big.
