Chris Gorak’s The Darkest Hour is an upcoming 3D Science fiction horror thriller. Shot in Russian, the American-based alien invasion stars Olivia Thirlby and Emile Hirsch and is set to hit the big screens on 25th of December worldwide. It will
arrive in Pakistan on the New Year i.e. 1st of January, 2012.
The story incorporates a group of five young people who are caught in middle of the alien invasion in Russia. They fight to survive past these aliens who are in an invisible electric form.
Presented by the visionary directer of Wanted, The Darkest Hour gives you a breakthrough from ugly huge monstrous marauding alien forms. It presents you with deadliest form of alien i.e. invisible electrical form. These aliens won’t show mercy to anyone
and they can’t be stopped. They came pre planned and attacked earth in three phases:
Phase one – Seize the Planet
Phase two – Devour all Energy including electricity, the main thing they want
Phase three – Destroy All Life
Produced by Timur Bekmambetov, The Darkes Hour is unlike any other alien movie. It is not centred in the United States nor has international scale but it involves invasion from Russian perspective only. In addition to this, the 3D thriller outlays the historic
beauty of Moscow alongside with exceptional special effects.
Filming with 3D cameras started on July 18, 2010 and the production used resources from Bemambetov’s Bazeles, a Russian-based company. The movie faced problems in its production phase as it was suspended for a planned two weeks due to heavy smoke from the
wild fires surrounding Moscow in August 2010. However, the production was resumed after three weeks.
Rachael Taylor, Joel Kinnaman and Max Minghella (played Elvis, the leading role in the movie Elvis and Anabelle) will be seen along Thirlby and Hirsch. Some Russian actors also appears in the film namely Veronika Ozerova, Nikolai Yefremov and Arthur Smolyaninov.
Dato Bakhtadze, a Georgian star is also in this flick.
44 million budgeted “The Darkest Hour” is rated PG-13 for some language and sci-fi action violence.
This sci-fi thriller should be on everyone’s radar since its one of a kind.
