Box Office Review: Dreamworks Animations’ Puss In Boots rules the weekend grossings

Where the US government is busy in cleaning the roads for local commutes due to early snowstorms, MLB fans are busy in the keeping track of the World Series and Halloween festivities are underway all around the country, the US box office is progressing on
full wave.

Moviegoers still get the time to make it to the nearest cinemas showing latest movies. In fact, the latest Hollywood flicks have broken recent records of business over the weekend.

Dreamworks Animation unleashed its Puss in Boots this Friday and over the last two days the animated movie has given a real hard time to the newest releases. The movie grossed up approximately $34 Million over the weekend leapfrogging Paranormal Activity
3’s total of $18.5 Million (in one week) to the top position in the box office.

However, Paranormal Activity 3 is not the only movie to fall victim to this cat’s adventures but this week’s releases like Justin Timberlake’s In Time and Johnny Depp’s The Rum Diary also went down totalling $12 and $5.01 Million, respectively.

The latest installation to the Far Far Away Land chronicles has a star-studded cast that includes Antonio Banderas voicing Puss, Salma Hayek vocalizing for Kitty Softpaws and Zach Galifianakis being the voice of Humpty Dumpty. In supporting cast are Billy
Bob Thornton, Amy Sedaris and Constance Marie.

The film is directed by Chris Miller known for the Shrek quadrigeminal and Medagascar deuce.

In the overall earnings, Paranormal Activity 3 remains on the top of the table with $ 81 Million, while Hugh Jackman’s Real Steel attracted approximately $74 M. Brad Pitt’s Money Ball remained at third after six weeks of business of $67 M.

Most surprisingly, the action/adventure flick The Three Musketeers could not make much of a difference in the box office in three weeks of business and remains low in ratings with around the $15 M of business.
