“Heroes t get credits, stuntmen to get grave” can easily be associated with the Hollywood industry, which has engulfed another stunt man in Bulgaria where the Star-studded Hollywood action “The Expendables 2” was being dramatised.
During the shooting of a sequel film, a stuntman died and another injured while performing an action scene for Sylvester Stallone, the production company disclosed. Scene was to record an explosion in a rubber boat near a dam on Lake Ognyanovo in South Western
Bulgaria, according to media reports. Little mistake in timing caused an accident which resulted in an expensive live of a human being and one injury.
The accident "resulted in one fatality and one injury," said a representative for the production.
The injured man was taken to the nearest hospital where he underwent five hours of surgery to return to life. According to Doctors, his condition is now stable and it will take about six months to make him able to perform again.
Spokesperson said the accident occur because of the unavailability of the little negligence of both the stuntmen. He said the main production unit of the film, written by Sylvester Stallone, was in the mountain resort village of Bansko for different scene
when the second unit reported the accident.
"It is with great regret that we confirm this unfortunate accident," added a statement by producers Image/Millennium Films. "Our hearts go out to the families and those on the production affected by this tragedy. The filmmakers are working closely with the
authorities in responding to and investigating this accident," it added, giving no further details of the incident.
Top-star high-budgeted sequel “The Expandable 2” will bring action-packed heroes Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis and Jean-Claude Van Damme into action along with Stallone. After the blockbuster, popularity of “The Expendables” in 2010 has urged Stallone
to write another part, which is due to hit the big screen in August 2012.
A sequel season is at its hype in both the Hollywood and the Bollywood. With every passing day, entertainment section of the Newspapers, magazines and TV shows broke news regarding a sequel launch of past blockbuster. Directors and Producers seem to live
in an epic world of repetition, which fuel them towards another part. At first sequels were associated with Horror films but now Twilight has changed the entire scenario. Exorcist, Evil Dead, was among the top horror thrillers and God Father is considered
the most acclaimed sequel of all times.
