Followed by the last minute cancellation of the gig in India which prompted violence at the venue, the organizers of the American heavy metal band Metallica were arrested on account of breach of trust.
The senior police officer in charge Alok Mittal confirmed the news and told the media that the organizers were arrested on account of breach of trust.
“We registered a police complaint against the organisers of the show. They have been arrested on charges of cheating people and breach of trust,” Alok said.
The gig was supposed to take place in New Delhi on Friday when the organizers of the event DNA Networks postponed the concert in the last minute. Thousands of fans had already gathered at the venue to see Metallica live for the first time in India which
made the situation worse.
Soon after the announcement, the fans became angry and not only smashed the equipment worth two hundred thousand dollars, they also wretched the stage which took 2 months to set up. It was also reported that many people were injured as a result of the chaos
which turned an eventful night of delight into a complete fiasco.
The Organizers didn’t give an authentic reason of postponing the gig and stated that the decision was taken citing unsatisfactory security at the venue and due to some technical reasons. The concert was part of the Formula Grand Prix which took place in
India for the first time.
The concert eventually took place in India but on a different venue. The people of Bangalore had the opportunity to witness Metallica live in India. Despite of all the drama which was created earlier on Friday, more than 50,000 people gathered at the new
venue to sing along with the lead singer of the band James Hetfield.
