The Japanese Film Festival in particular, has been started in 1995 and since then, it’s providing the foremost opportunity for the people of Pakistan to observer different characteristic of the Japanese lifestyle, culture and society.
Earlier, On October 27, the Japanese ambassador Hiroshi Oe said, “This year, our embassy is holding the Japanese Animation Film Festival for the first time in Pakistan. The Japanese animation works are widely appraised and are known worldwide as ‘anime’.
It is different from traditional animation films in terms of storylines and drawings. The themes and subjects of the anime are meant not only for the young audience but also the adults. I am very pleased to know that the Japanese anime is quite popular even
in Pakistan.”
He added, “The anime cartoons such as Dragon Ball Z, Pokemon, Hello Kitty, Doraemon, and Naruto were very well known among the young people in Pakistan. And for those of you who will be watching the anime for the first time, it is definitely going to open
a new window for you.”
The main focus of this year’s festival is on Japanese Animation films which would enable Pakistani passionate film viewers to see the Japanese animation which is widely accepted form of entertainment in Japan and is also known worldwide as ‘Anime’.
This film festival, no doubt is providing a great experience to the movie lovers in the country, but on a larger scale, film festivals as a whole are essential because of the discussions after the screenings of these different types of films while International
movies shown at festivals are generally more substantive towards general public.
