Lahore, November 2: Shahbaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) issued strict instructions after observing the poor cleanliness in the hospitals of the city. He also directed the health department to devise a comprehensive plan to make the hospitals clean
on consistent basis.
He said this while addressing to emergency committee’s meeting to examine the measures of the government for the elimination of Dengue and also to check the facilities available to Dengue patients in different hospitals of the city.
CM also gave instructions to health secretary to prepare and submit the recommendations of checking make the facilities better in the hospitals including the cleanliness and availability of required medicines and equipment to deal the Dengue patients effectively.
Directions for the formulation of a monitoring system were also given to the health secretary by the CM.
While talking about the cleanliness, CM took a strict behaviour and said that without cleanliness the patients of Dengue cannot be treated. It becomes quite disapproving to see the hospital and its surroundings dirty.
He also directed that special teams should visit the hospitals in Rawalpindi and Faisalabad and review the steps which are being taken to ensure the healthy environment in the hospitals. These teams will review the cleanliness of the hospitals and the availability
of all facilities to the Dengue patients including medicine and equipment.
The CM also expressed that the government of Punjab is taking the right steps to tackle the fatal Dengue fever, which has swallowed more than 350 people in the city. He also told that for the better treatment of patients, machinery and medicines
had been imported and are being utilised in hospitals.
Shahbaz added that the training programme for the awareness of doctors, physicians and general public helped to a greater extent in decreasing the Dengue victims in the city. In the training programme, 358 physicians, doctors and nurses
received training to deal with this disease effectively.
Shahbaz said that every effort will be made to maintain cleanliness in the hospitals and the availability of the required equipment including medicines and machinery are being imported for giving the deserving treatment to the patients.
