News has come forth on Thursday, 3 November, that Pakistan Tehreek – e – Insaf (PTI) may not take part in general elections if they are held under President Asif Ali Zardari. On the other hand, Pakistan Muslim League – Q has hinted on establishing an alliance
with the PTI party in the near future.
Politics can be a complicated field of profession for many people across the nation. For the general public, it can be a source of entertainment. As alliances break and form, the common man gets hurt from the deliberating actions of our leaders or representatives.
The youth in Pakistan is clearly waking up to the problems of the nation and amongst the usual candidates for elections, Pakistan Tehreek – e – Insaf is one party to avail a lot of support from the youth segment of the populace. Boycotting the last two elections,
PTI is renowned to not risk its integrity when it comes to fair and free elections.
PTI Central Vice President Rauf Hassan, who is also responsible for the party’s Information and Media department, told the press that rigging is highly suspected under the rule or authority of the President. He cited Azad Kashmir and Gilgit – Baltistan elections
as appropriate examples.
“This is my personal viewpoint: that in the presence of Zardari, the PML-N should also boycott the next election,” Rauf Hassan said.
The PTI Central Vice President also said that the party maintains its stance on declaring assets. He made it clear that all politicians should declare their assets, abroad and local.
At the same time, PML-Q Information Secretary Kamil Ali Agha made a stunning statement in the press address.
“PTI chief Imran Khan has proved that his party is doing issue-based politics. As the PML-Q too is doing the issue-based politics, its alliance with the PTI is quite possible,” Agha said.
He told the media that his party and PTI were in contact for the last two days and were working on ways to raise the awareness of the people about the corruption in the political system. He also said he was in contact with Rauf Hassan.
“During the three-hour meeting, we have reached a consensus that both the parties should have good working relationships to save the country from corruption, lawlessness, energy crisis, price hike and other issues,” Agha said.
Politics can be a complicated game at times but it never tends to run out of entertainment. For the people, there will always be concerns.
