The agreement was reached in a meeting of Vice Chancellors to establish Pakistan’s maiden “Inter University Consortium for Promotion of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities” which was held
in Islamabad on Wednesday.  The meeting was attended by the Vice Chancellors of Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad, Islamia University Bahawalpur, University of Gujrat, Government College University Faisalabad and Institute of Managements Sciences Peshawar.

The participants have expressed their confidence that the consortium will play a vibrant role in addressing the problems related to the social sciences.  They added that the consortium with
its coordinated efforts will help to promote the social sciences profession in Pakistan.

The Vice Chancellors of the educational institutes of the country have expressed their hope that the consortium will help to improve the state of social sciences education and facilities in
the country. They expressed their confidence that the forum will provide a platform for the social scientists and researchers to share their learning’ and experiences in a professional manner.
