Pakistani sensational singer, Alamgir is set to re-emerge on the silver screen with his latest song “Keh Daina” in a television serial “Mangoes” produced by Suhrwardy Brothers.
Khurram Suhrwardy and Adeel Suhrwardy, commonly referred to as Suhrwardy Brothers, have succeeded to bring the legendary voice back into the music industry. They previously have made a short telefilm “The Early Days” which received
splendid response from the audience.
The talented producers-cum-directors are in the completion stages of their upcoming television serial for which they decided to call off the spell bounding and magical voice of the Pakistani legend.
Alamgir was born in East Pakistan, which is now unfortunately a separate country, Bangladesh. He came to Karachi to start his professional career at the young age of seventeen. He started off from a well reputed cafe named “Cafe
D Khan” where he was spotted by a talent hunter.
In the beginning of the 1970?s, he started singing for the Pakistani Television when there was less familiarity with the western music. Alamgir introduced pop music into the Pakistani music industry and ruled it for nearly two
decades.
Kristie Yung, a magical voice from Canada, is working alongside Alamgir in their latest venture “Keh Daina” as a female lead vocalist. Yung is known for providing intoxicating music in her native language but now she is set to
mesmerize the audience singing in an unfamiliar language, Urdu.
Singing alongside the Pakistani legend, who still has a lot of music left in him, was a pretty difficult task for her but the promising singer has justified her chance well enough, working alongside a high calibre singer.
“I am happy that ‘Keh Dena’ has been covered by so many artists, but once you hear what Kristie Yung has done to the song you will hear a completely different take on it. I loved singing it once again after so many years,” Alamgir
was quoted as saying
Renowned tabla player, Sunny Matharu, was handed the table job for the song. The talented artist has provided excellent beats to the song and his combination with the singers speaks for itself.
