Interior Minister Rehman Malik directed Islamabad Police to ensure fool proof security arrangements for public and worship places and important buildings on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha.
He issued these instructions during a meeting held in Islamabad to review law and order and security situation in the capital city especially on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha on Monday, November 7.
Secretary Interior, Khawaja Sadique Akbar, Additional Secretary Interior, Shahid Hamid, Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Inspector General of Police Islamabad and Director General of National Crisis Management Cell and Deputy Commissioner Islamabad attended
the meeting.
Rehman Malik said walk-through gates and scanners should be installed at Mosques to ensure security for the citizens. He further added that the suspects should also be thoroughly monitored.
He further directed that security should be ensured with additional force on all entry and exit points in Islamabad and patrolling should be enhanced, particularly during night time.
The meeting decided that there would be a dedicated place for collection of animals’ skins and imposed ban on excessive usage of loudspeaker for collection of skins.
Prior permission from Deputy Commissioner would be compulsory for collection of animals’ skins and no one would be allowed to collect skins through chit system or other means.
