The philosophy of Iqbal

Many leaders in power or out of it in Pakistan claims that they are determined to build or re-build the country in line with the philosophy of Poet of East, Allama Muhammad Iqbal. Among those President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani,
Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif are prominent figures to have uttered their fortitude to do so on different occasions.
However, regrettably, these are nothing than words. A momentary look in the country’s situation would get know that they have little significance to the Muslim State what Allama Iqbal dreamed.
Whereas without any doubt the governing classes all along the Pakistan’s existence have not concerned to be loyal to Iqbal’s philosophy, the incumbent rulers have exceeds all limits. After the examples set by military dictator and former president Pervez
Musharraf, it has fallen under the spell of the West and owed its sovereignty, even independence, to the United States.
The real message of Iqbal, instead, is a vociferous call for freedom from the guiles of the Western Society and retroversion to the eternal teachings of Islam, interpreted in line with the modern and emerging truths. Pakistan’s role in the war against terrorism,
in agreement with US notations, has introduced deaths, destructions, and economic difficulties in the country.
Iqbal anticipated the revitalization of Islam, with the Muslim State in the region taking the lead to build harmony in the Islamic world and then together working to restore that magnificence of yesteryear. In his view the past glory only come back with
commitment to the study of modern subjects and sincerity of aim. Regrettably, neither that harmony nor that revitalization is somewhere in scene.
There is no worthwhile effort being made to understand the Iqbal’s message to lift the masses out of the muddle of paucity and unawareness as uttered in his poetry. Our leadership looks to be ravishing in dishonesty and celebrating their bad administration.
Price hiking is stripping the masses of the means to meet the necessary requirements of daily-life and the incumbent has not concern in this regard. The level of education has been demoted, as, maybe, never before in the history of the country.
However, the people of Pakistan do not hopeless thus far. There is a strong faith that given the political will to get the proper utilisation of the enormous resources that Pakistan has, the country will come out as a developed and affluent land. They beg
for the prompt political will among the leading classes of the country.
