The modern age has experienced many strange and rather un-understandable phenomena. Thanks to modern science, humankind has been made subject to some of the strangest confusions ever. One such strange phenomenon was unveiled when recently a 26-year-old rugby
player, Chris Birch, was reported to have experienced a change in his sexuality.
Chris was reported to have suffered from a stroke that he had during practice, outlandishly the rugby player woke up as a homosexual. The former rugby player has expressed that he is no longer attracted to females and is completely different person since
the stroke.
It has been reported that the incident took place while Chris Birch was attempting a back-flip in front of teammates during rugby practice. While attempting the back-flip, the 26-year-old fell on his neck in a rather ‘freakish’ way. The fall also resulted
in a stroke.
Birch suffered from the stroke and lost his conscience, after he woke up he revealed that he was a different man and that everything about him had changed.
As reported by The Telegraph, Chris Birch was quoted as saying:
"I was gay when I woke up and I still am. It sounds strange but when I came round I immediately felt different. I wasn’t interested in women anymore.”
"I had never been attracted to a man before – I’d never even had any gay friends. But I didn’t care about who I was before; I had to be true to my feelings."
To add more bizarre to the twist, it has also been reported that Chris Birch was happily engaged before he suffered the fateful stroke. More revelations describe that he had been planning to settle down with his girlfriend.
His girlfriend’s reaction has not been exactly described but one has to say, that being in love with someone who turns gay all of a sudden, must be a life-changing experience.
Chris Birch is currently a hairdresser, a job which he describes, as much closer to who he is or what he has become.
Scientists have reported people to have recovered from strokes with different personalities; particularly a change in accent but such event was definitely a first.
While describing his new life, Birch stated:
“I started to take more pride in my appearance, bleached my hair and started working out. I think I’m happier than ever. I am even more confident. I’m nothing like the old Chris now but I wouldn’t change a thing.’
