Hottest Gifts of the Week
Saturday, November 12th, 2011 6:04:06 by Usman KhalidAlthough Eid ul Adha has passed, taking with it the glorious moments of three days, still that does not take out the possibilities of offering gifts to loved ones.
This week’s hottest presents are:
1. Motorola Droid Razr
With a dense AMOLED screen and state-of-the-art dual-core processor, the new Motorola Droid Razr is becoming a heart throb among the young generation. The Android Honeycomb is easy to use and the phone its self is fine piece of architecture and engineering.
Its big screen is best of watching videos and movies and the sound quality is mind blowing for a smartphone.
2. Roku LT
Internet television viewing is becoming more of a domestic necessity than technological sensation. With a vaster pool of channels at the disposal of one button on the remote control, internet TVs are becoming a household utensil.
Roku’s new set-top box provides exactly that but a pocket money of $50 distinguishes it from other expensive products in the same category like Google TV and Apple TV.
The device is WiFi based but older CRT television can also work with it, thanks to A/V breaker included inside the packaging.
3. Samsung Galaxy S II SkyRocket
The debonair look and slim body takes the breath away when Samsung’s signature smartphone is showcased in the top shelf. With Hi-Fi technological gismos and flamboyant LED screen, the Galaxy S II becomes everybody’s first choice.
Moreover, the stylus included in the casing makes it the first option for students as a handheld. The writing response is quite impressive and close to conventional pen-and-paper writing.
The price is a little high but something’s gotta give for a Samsung brand.
4. HTC Radar 4G
Announced alongside its big brother HTC Titan, the phone was touted as a low-end smartphone for Windows Phone 7.5 Mango. However, its cheaper price tag has eclipsed the Titan’s sales with more or less the same specs.
With comparatively smaller screen size, the phone is quite handy to be held in a palm and its white colour, coupled with white Windows skin, adds up to the hype.
5. Nokia Lumia 800
Although it was a mere surviving plan for the Finnish company to enter the smartphone business but the sleek look of the new Lumia 800 might push the company into the segment all hands aboard.
With a single core processor, the phone might be on the shorter side of the stick, technically, but the curved AMOLED screen and Nokia’s signature Express Music sound system makes it the best choice in mediocre budget bracket.
