Why Pakistan Tehriq-e-Insaf leader Imran Khan can never become President of Pakistan

Imran Khan is a breed apart from the other politicians and leaders of the ignorant, reactive and easy-to-deceive people that make up Pakistan and for that the leader of Pakistan Tehriq-e-Insaf will suffer.

The fact of the matter is that while Imran Khan raises his flags and banners and calls for change, his plan is flawed and the foundations are built on one of the most unstable premises known to man: the Pakistani people.

While everyone will attend jalsas and claim they support the charismatic leader and the PTI, chances are they will abandon such notions when push comes to shove. This is not a generalisation of the people of this country, but rather a fact. All one needs
to do is look at the history of this politically unstable country.

Thousands came out to attend the rally at Minar-e-Pakistan last month and for the first time in ages; people actually believed that change could be achieved. It could, if Pakistan was not the country that it is.

To put things in perspective, Imran Khan called the people to a gathering and they came in their thousands, most will even vote for the PTI when the time comes. Yet, when Imran Khan claimed that he would call on the youth and the people of Pakistan to carry
out a civil disobedience movement, one had to ask the question how many would support him then?

It may sound shallow and cynical, but is that not how we, the people of Pakistan, have acted in the past? Loathsome and indifferent, easy to anger yet almost impossible to get us to actually do something useful and productive in answer?

If the reader said or thought yes to any of these questions, then I pose a few questions to him, or her; why is one of the most corrupt people in the world sitting in the seat reserved for the President of Pakistan? Why is it that the history of the country
is adorned with military coups and dictatorships?

The answer is simple; it is because we the people are weak and indifferent and because those who see an opportunity for power seize it and abuse.

That is why Imran Khan can never come into power, because he relies on the people of Pakistan, who are with you when it’s easy and back off when, as mentioned before, push comes to shove.
