Two more people died due to cruel dengue virus in the city, surging the death toll from 355 to 357, in Lahore, on Sunday, November 13.
According to research reports, Rifat Bibi, 45, a resident of Syedpura lost the battle against dengue fever in the Jinnah Hospital. In the meantime, Muhammad Aslam, 72, an inhabitant of Infantry Road succumbed to dengue in the Services Hospital, in Lahore,
on Sunday.
Approximately 55 new dengue cases were reported in the metropolitan area during the last 24 hours. More importantly, 32,721 patients are under the treatment for dengue fever in Punjab.
Around about 11 new dengue cases were reported in the Mayo Hospital, 3 in the Jinnah Hospital and 10 patients in the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. Meanwhile, six dengue patients were tested positive in the Services Hospital during the last 24 hours in Lahore.
In addition, almost 25 new dengue cases had been reported in the various public and private hospitals, laboratories and clinics throughout the provincial capital.
On the other hand, dengue killed two more people during the last 24 hours in Faisalabad and the Badin district of Sindh. 55 year old Rasheeda Bibi and 8 year old Sadia, the residents of native areas died due to dengue, on Saturday.
Meanwhile, 12 dengue patients were tested positive in Faisalabad, surging the total number of dengue sufferers in the locale up to 1522. According to research findings of the Punjab Health Department, more or less 83 dengue patients had restored to health
and been released from the various healthcare centres and sanatoriums, in Lahore, on Saturday.
However, the good news is that there has a drastic cut in the dengue pandemic been seen across the metropolitan area during the last one and half weeks. Nevertheless, people would still require being preventive against the dengue by adopting anti dengue
spray measures.
Furthermore, there should be more and more collaborative efforts implemented from the citizens, hospitals and governmental organizations for the control of dengue in Punjab. Add to that, non-profit organizations and welfare societies would need to realise
the importance of dengue preventive campaign in the area.
