Black Sabbath reunites for a studio album
Monday, November 14th, 2011 6:47:38 by Sehl Bin ShoaibHard rock fraternity’s mammoth hit band, Black Sabbath, is all set to reunite to record their first studio album since 1978, with rock maestro, Ozzy Osbourne, retaining his place with the ensemble as its front-man. According to reports, it was learnt that
Black Sabbath will also pin a massive world tour in support for their upcoming project.
The band, which once ruled the hard rock charts, courtesy a colossal fan base, all topped with their thrashing ballads for decades, made the announcement earlier last week during a press conference at the Whiskey A-Go-Go in Los Angeles – penning the event
in their books since it was the same venue where they played their first show some 41 years ago.
Although the group’s tour dates and venues are yet to be confirmed but for their studio album, Rick Rubin will be main man behind the whole concept, as its producer and is scheduled to be released next year under the label of Vertigo/Universal.
In a recent interview, Black Sabbath’s guitarist Tony Iommi revealed that he rendezvoused with Osbourne, bassist Geezer Butler and drummer Bill Ward at the singer’s California home earlier this year.
It was in 1968 that Black Sabbath came into being, but was originally patented under the banner of Earth, but was soon renamed. As for the group’s line-up, it was only guitarist Tony who retained his place with the ensemble, while 22 other musicians have
shuffled around Black Sabbath, leaving Tony, Osbourne, Butler and Ward as the eventual members of the band.
However, over the years, Black Sabbath earned itself an imposing goodwill under the rock genre, and alongside some other iconic bands such as Led Zeppelin, and Deep Purple, they became to be known as one of the pioneers of heavy metal.
