Apple launches iTunes Match with the new iTunes 10.5.1

Apple has once again stepped forward in premium customer care and easy usage of their devices. The company recently launched a new feature in its new iTunes 10.5.1 called the iTunes Match.

The new element that comes preinstalled into the software intelligently combines the magic of iCloud and power of iTunes on any Mac-based, iOS-based or Windows-based devices.

Prior to the iTunes Match, the users had to hoard their music libraries from device to device that were not on iTunes library, meaning the ones that one downloaded from a CD, a friend or peer-to-peer software.

The size of these libraries has seen an exponential increase in the last decade or so, piling up to gigabytes of the tunes and music files. Although it was not a big task to transfer these files from one PC or Mac to another, thanks to massive external hard
drives and faster USB 3.0, it was a aching chore on mobile devices like the iPads, iPhones and iPods, which are also not big on storage but can be considered a holy grail when it comes to listening to music.

Previously, the iTunes had to update the iTunes library every time a new song was downloaded to a hard drive; consider this task multiplied to thousands of music files added to a new device.

Now, the iTunes intelligently updates the files present on one device and dispatches a copy matching the same track on the iCloud for a humble $24.99/year. The price is one-time expense and the user can connect as many devices to the iCloud as he/she wishes.
The package is limited to only 25,000 tracks that the user did not purchase from iTunes but this number is acceptable for a mere 24.99 a year.

While the iTunes is updating the library connected to the iCloud, the user can listen to uninterrupted music on the device he/she is using. This service can also be run on the diminutive $99 Apple TV.
