Imran Khan declares that he will never join hands with Nawaz Sharif or Asif Ali Zardari
Tuesday, November 15th, 2011 7:43:16 by Hamza JahangirPTI’s chairman Imran Khan has revealed that he will never strike a political deal with the likes of Nawaz Sharif from Pakistan Muslim League N or President Asif Ali Zardari because they will never submit to his demands of making
the financial value of their assets public.
Imran Khan has seen a massive rise in his popularity of late in Pakistan as his social media campaign has led to an emancipation of youth in the country’s political scenario. Imran Khan’s latest rally which was held at Minar-e-Pakistan
in Lahore resulted in a show of tremendous support for the former Pakistan national cricket team captain who led the country to the 1992 ICC World Cup victory in Australia.
Imran Khan’s 16 year long career in politics has been a strange ride for him as he has gone through various ups and downs, however doubts still remain about his party’s ability to gain popular vote in Pakistan in the next elections.
PTI’s leader Imran Khan called on other sane and faithful political leaders in Pakistan to join his party and bring a change to the political climate of Pakistan which has been dominated by the likes of Pakistan People’s Party and Pakistan Muslim League N.
When asked why didn’t he pressurize the judges of the supreme court or the generals in the army to declare their assets, Imran Khan said, “First it is for the politicians, the president, the prime minister, cabinet members and
top government functionaries to set an example by declaring their real and concealed assets; after that we can force all segments of society, including generals and judges, to declare their assets.”
Mr. Khan also revealed that “My concept of liberalism is strictly in accordance with the teachings of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) and Islam which does not coerce anyone to convert. I am a disciple of Allama Iqbal who was
the greatest liberal.”
