Kelly Clarkson to start her 40-city-plus North American tour in January 2012
Tuesday, November 15th, 2011 9:55:13 by Melvin ArthurThe pop-rock sensation, Kelly Clarkson will commence a 40-city-plus North American tour in the month of January, stated by her record label on Monday. Clarkson’s ‘Stronger Tour 2012’, will be opened at the MGM Grand Theatre in Mashantucket, Connecticut on
January 13.
Her three months of dates have been announced through San Diego’s Valley View Casino Center. Tickets for the tour would be on the sale by November 18 2011. Folk-rock singer-songwriter Matt Nathanson will be seen in collaboration with the singer at several
stops in the tour.
"Stronger" debuted at number-two on the Billboard Top 200 and the digital albums charts, and the first single, "Mr. Know It All," was able to make it to the fourth on the iTunes Singles chart which marked Clarkson’s ninth top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot
100. Her fifth studio album, "Stronger,” released in the month of October has been able to do good so far.
Clarkson won Country Music association award last week for Musical Event of the Year with Jason Aldean for their hit single, "Don’t You Wanna Stay". Clarkson started her career at the age of 20 in the year 2002, when she was the first winner of ‘American
Idol’
Clarkson, on the record, possesses a fragile approach, as she was requested by her label to sing a song at the American Idol ‘Idol Gives Back’ charity show which aimed for tackling poverty, hunger and AIDS in Africa, as well as the Hurricane Katrina appeal.
She noticed that the performance of the song would be something like self-promotion, thus she rejected and said, “My label wanted me to sing ‘Never Again,’ and I was like, to promote yourself on a charity event is beyond crass. People are starving and dying
and I’m up there singing some bitter pop song? And believe me, everyone wanted me to sing it. Because they are jaded and they have no soul. Imagine sitting in a room full of people totally against you. Can’t they hear themselves speaking? Capitalize on AIDS?
Are you kidding? Insulting an entire nation of people? I just refused."
Clarkson has enjoyed her stardom life and unlike many other musicians and singers, she has been able to grab chart-topping success with pop rock singles such as "Miss Independent" and the smash hit, "Since U Been Gone." Clarkson has made it to be in the
league of music paragons with her two ‘Grammy awards’, two American Music Awards and two MTV Awards, in addition to last week’s CMA honour. The fans all over are sure to be delivered with a treat of some feet-thumping music in the upcoming year from the ‘American
Idol’ winner.
