Arthur Christmas: Out now on big screens

James McAvoy’s Arthur Christmas has hit the British cinemas on 11th November and will premier in the
United States on 23rd of November, 2011. The film was directed by Sarah Smith and along with McAvoy it features voices of Hugh Laurie, Jim Broadbent, Bill Nighy, Imelda Staunton and Ashley Jensen.

This ninety-seven minutes long flick is an Aardman production for Sony Pictures Animation, centres around Santa’s
son Arthur (McAvoy) who must complete a mission before Christmas morning.

The film answers to every children questions of how Santa Clause delivers all the presents in one night. Answer
is the ultra high-tech operation hidden beneath the North Pole.

The movie was first announced in 2007 under the name Operation Rudolph. It is the first film made by the collaboration
of Aardman and the Sony Pictures entertainment. They spent eighteen months on pre-production on the story and design in UK before shifting to United States for another eighteen months of production.

In addition to this, a video game: Arthur Christmas Elf Run is made based on this movie. It was released on November
9th, 2011 on iTunes App Store. The game allows players to play as delivery elves who must quickly and quietly deliver gifts to children.

The British American animated comedy received good and positive reviews all over. Review Aggregator of the site
Rotten Tomatoes gave an average rating of 6.8 out of 10 from twenty-five reviews.

Michael Rechtshaffen of Hollywood reporter stated, “Leave it to the folks who brought us Wallace & Gromit, Chicken
Run and Flushed Away to bring a delightful blast of fresh air to the conventional Christmas genre.”

Tim Evans of Sky Movies went on to say, “A Christmas cracker.”

in some nifty 3D visuals make this a highly enjoyable early Christmas present,” said Alex Zane from Sun Online.

The 3D, CG-animated family comedy Arthur Christmas is a must watch for everyone, whether young or adults. It’s
a great way to spend time with your family and loved ones and to have some laugh with them.
