Chris Cornell gets busy with Songbook
Wednesday, November 16th, 2011 6:01:55 by Sehl Bin ShoaibHaving already pinned some major performances and projects for rock fraternity’s heavy weights – with Audioslave being one of the major from the lot, and then for his band, Soundgarden; the group’s front-man, Chris Cornell, has once again come out with another
of his major acoustic compilation of his works, an album under the banner of ‘Songbook’ – which will include the singer’s live Songbook Tour performances.
During one of Cornell’s recent interviews, the former Audioslave vocalist said that it was overwhelming to see a positive reaction from his audience, and that the whole bunch has played a major role in his immense fame and reputation as an esteemed musician.
“It blows me away that there’s this willingness by an audience – continually, night after night, just all over the country and even in different parts of the world – to sit and listen to a guy singing a song and playing acoustic guitar quietly, and not making
a sound,” said Cornell.
The albums holds 16 live performed songs from Cornell’s spring tour, and will also include some imposing covers (including Led Zeppelin’s Thank You), as well as Soundgarden and Audioslave tunes (Like a Stone).
Based on reports, the album is all set to be released on November 21, 2011, the same day Cornell moves his proceeding Songbook tour to New York’s Carnegie Hall before wrapping it up on December 17 in San Diego.
The track-list includes – 1. As Hope and Promise Fade, 2. Scar On The Sky, 3. Call Me A Dog, 4. Ground Zero, 5. Can’t Change Me, 6. I Am The Highway, 7. Thank You (Led Zeppelin), 8. Cleaning My Gun, 9. Wide Awake, 10. Fell On Black Days, 11. All Night Thing,
12. Doesn’t Remind Me, 13. Like A Stone, 14. Black Hole Sun, 15. Imagine (John Lennon), 16. The Keeper.
