Underground Tubes and Trams – A Future Need

Considering the rate at which population all around Pakistan is increasing, and majorly in big cities like the capital, Lahore, Karachi, Faisalabad, Multan etc, we need to find a solution to a major problem and that is, Traffic.
We cannot lessen it as nowadays everyone needs a comfortable ride to wherever they want to go.
Islamabad for instance, has been a low populated place since 2000. However, after 2007, the traffic has gone to wild in the capital that the traffic governing body is also helpless. Even if a traffic police office stands there
to run a cross-section, he jumbles up and at time, people do not even listen to them.
On an average, every family uses two cars. And there are many who have more than that a well. There is a house in sector F-11 of Islamabad which has more than 12 cars. Considering that, would a bus that can carry 25-30 passenger
at an average is likely to jam the traffic or 25-30 cars? There was a time when Traffic signals in Islamabad were to be seen everywhere. Now, they have been lifted just to keep the traffic in flow. This has increased the number of accidents, however, for the
time being this method is working.
What if the population grows? Considering Islamabad extending from 35 sectors to a double of that, it looks more like London where the centre has all the congestion so people move towards the outer skirts. However, we need to foresee
the fact that if 100 percent of the population increases then 200 percent of traffic increases as well.
So for that reason we need to counter measure. An effective way to counter this problem would be to make Underground tubes and Trams. Like in London or other big congested cities of the world, there are tubes and Trams that run
all week and have different stops.
Buses are used more frequently as a travel medium and also costs less. We did have that here, however, the condition of the transport is so low that people are afraid that it might just collide and kill us or break while on the
move…and kill us again.
People who need to go to school, universities, offices, or back home. Undergrounds and Trams would certainly lessen the number of traffic on the road resulting in less traffic jams, less late arrivals and a relief for all those
people who travel a lot. There is a great need to urge our government to ponder upon this matter, however, looking at the current scenario, our leader are extremely busy working on how pull each other’s leg and if not then how to steal more.
