One of Bollywood Khans to attend Muscat International Film Festival

It is likely that one of Bollywood Khans will visit Oman to attend the opening ceremony of the Muscat International Film Festival (MIFF) next year.T

he marketing and communications coordinator of MIFF, Sudha Sha revealed that they are going to invite one of Khans to participate in festival, which is scheduled to take place from March, 24, 2012 to March, 31, 2012, as the Oman
Film Society and International Film Fraternity of Oman (IFFO) is going to arrange it.

“It will be Aamir Khan, Shahrukh Khan or Salman Khan. One of the three Khans will be here in Muscat,” he told Times of Oman.

According to Sudha, who seems excited over the upcoming film festival, they are going to screen approximately 40 movies in Muscat’s theatres, which will provide the great excitement and fun to the viewers.

Meanwhile, he stated that the management has also decided to organise a competition during the festival.     

“At least 40 feature films picked from global and Arab cinema world will be screened at various theatres in Muscat. This time, we will also have an Omani feature film. Other than this, there will be a special competition for short,
documentary and animation films at the festival,” he added in same interview.

Furthermore, Sudha said that they are looking to know the viewers’ opinion and interest through SMS.

“Everyone in the GCC can SMS on which Khan they want in the opening ceremony. From the winners, we will select 10 and provide a special entry pass for the opening ceremony,”

In the meanwhile, the marketing and communications coordinator asserted that they have also been in contact with the South Korean filmmaker, Kim Ki-duk to invite him to attend the festival.

“Kim Ki-duk is noted for his idiosyncratic ‘art-house’ cinematic works. In 2004, he received Best Director awards at Berlin and Venice film festivals,” Sudha shared.
