The Pakistani musician-cum-lyricist, Shahvar Ali Khan, is set to take on Bollywood with his latest song “Filmein Shilmein, Gaane Shaane” in Rohit Dhawan’s “Desi Boyz”.
Shahvar, who started his professional career with a peace anthem last year, has written his latest track which has been used in the much anticipated Indian movie "Desi Boys". The song will appear as a background score of the Bollywood
movie starring: John Abraham and Akshay Kumar.
With the growing trend of introducing Pakistani singers in Bollywood, the Indian film makers are keeping tabs on different Pakistani musicians, who are ready to lend their voice across the borders.
Ali Zafar, Rahet Fateh Ali Khan, Adeel Chaudhry and Atif Aslam have successfully mesmerised the Indian audience with their soft voices in the past and now it’s Khan’s turn to earn some fame.
The promising singer has no problems rendering his voice to Indian cinema, believing that the music is like an ocean that decides its own boundary.
“My take on Desi Boyz is that it rests on two to three basic pillars: Friendship and Male Bonding, Desi Pride and Global Economic Depression. So, Desi-ism of course was evident coming from a Lahori! However, these are three main
areas where I feel ‘Desi Boyz’ and “Filmein Shilmein” develops synergy. That’s my endeavour in every song – whether “No Saazish, No Jang – Peace not Pieces” or “Filmein Shilmein” – the idea is to weave a harsh fact or a utopian story beyond melody and singing.”
The Pakistani music icon was quoted as saying.
The fact that Shahvar is one of the closest friends with Dhawan does not make him the director’s first choice for singing in his upcoming movie. Shahvar revealed that he deserved the chance, revealing that he is expecting a splendid
response from Pakistani and Indian audience.
Speaking on the plot of “Desi Boys”, Khan revealed that the film is a story of friendship between two Desi friends abroad and the story revolves around their quest to compete with each other for girls in a tug-of-war situation.
Reports in India suggest that the movie will rock the theatres on 25th November.
