The Government St High School Anarkali conducted a seminar on dengue, in Lahore, on Wednesday, November 16.
The Education Task Force Chairperson Mrs Shaista Malik supervised the seminar. During the seminar on dengue, the school children were informed about total number of deaths due to dengue virus in city and across the province. So far, 359 citizens have lost
their lives due to dengue pandemic in the provincial capital.
In the meantime, many other important celebrities of government high school were present on the occasion, including Senior Head Master Attique Ahmad Kyani and Waheed Alam Khan.
The ultimate agenda of organising the seminar was to educate the school kids about the dengue mosquito. Meanwhile, Mrs Shaista Malik addressed the school children that dengue is a nasty mosquito, which can breed in several places from barrels to drums, jars
to pots, buckets to flower vases, plant-pots to tanks, discarded bottles to tins, tyres to water coolers and rain water and many others. So, these all sorts of factors would become the ultimate cause of dengue fever.
Furthermore, Shaista addressed the school kids about the symptoms of dengue fever. As a matter of fact, there are several types of signs of dengue fever, such as headache, muscular pains, bone aching, vomiting, nausea, loss of appetite, red and white rashes,
mental exhaustion, and so on. Then, there is dengue hemorrhagic fever, which can be caused by various types of symptoms like blood coagulation, dizziness, collapse and shocks.
Moreover, she said that despite the horrific symptoms and causes of the dengue fever, there are several preventive measures through which people can be able to control over dengue.
Mrs Shaista told the school kids that people can only triumph over dengue pandemic by keeping the homes, offices, public parks and other places neat and clean. Further, she added that the citizens would need to realize the importance of dengue preventive
campaigns in the city. Meanwhile, the Punjab government is playing a critical role in eradicating the disease from the province.
Finally, she applauded for the scintillating efforts of the public and private hospitals, healthcare centres, laboratories and paramedical staff due to them more and more lives have been saved in the province.
