U.S ambassador assures Pakistan of America’s continued support

U.S ambassador has addressed the media in his recent interview and stated that America will continue to support Pakistan. This statement comes in a scenario of political deadlock between both the countries as previously the Pakistani
intelligence agency ISI was criticized by American politicians for their outright support to the Haqqani network which was carrying out operations in Afghanistan and destabilizing American forces as well as the democratically elected Afghani government.

Americans have been quite vocal in their apprehensions regarding ISI, something that proved to be a throne in the side of the Pakistani establishment.  U.S ambassador addressed the media during an inter-faith harmony meeting organized
at Jamia Saliya, he said, “It is true that differences are present among various religions but we should follow these things and teachings which are common among the religions to promote inter-faith harmony and foil the nefarious designs of the terrorists
and anti-social elements.”

He also touched upon Quaid-e-Azam’s vision of religious freedom for Pakistan as well as the minorities in the country. He added, “We should follow the vision of Quaid-e-Azam and promote peace, harmony, equity in the society as
it is essential to establish a prosperous and progressive state in the world”.

He added that no religion allows or supports killing of people and allowing people to practice extremism and that all religious leaders should take steps to teach peace and harmony along with brotherhood. The American ambassador
further elaborated on economic problems of Pakistan and said that problems such as poverty, joblessness, unemployment and lack of literacy and global issues along with Pakistan’s issues.
