Michael Murray, an American heart throb actor, has turned into a writer after publishing a graphic novel “Everlast” this month.
While the actor is likely to appear in the upcoming Hollywood movie “The Haunting in Georgia and Renee”, he is upbeat over his debut novel. Inspired by comic stories, the young actor has given a new dimension to his career.
It is reported that it took Murray eight straight years to bring the comic into life. Speaking on the idea generation for the graphic novel, the talented actor-cum-model revealed that a man came to his house in North Carolina and
said:
"The man said 144,000 people would be left to survive the end of days and it spurred a lot of ideas. What if that was true? How would you choose these people?"
The mysterious question gave the writer an idea about writing the graphic novel, giving life to his comic character Derek Ever last. The novel tells the story of Derek who protects the chosen people before mankind see the end of
the world.
“I’ve been writing for years but this was the first thing I ever followed through with.” Murray was quoted as saying
After the generation of the idea, Murray went to the editor in chief of an American comic publishing company, Archaia, and the rest of it, is a history.
Before publishing his debut novel, Murray hinted about the story on his personal website and while speaking to the media, the 30-year-old admitted that he had a terrific response form the readers on the website.
Murray revealed the inspiration behind the book and gave the example of movies “Constantine” and “The crow”, both the movies follow supernatural sequences. The “One Tree Hill” famed actor revealed his delight over his latest venture,
expecting it to turn into a movie in the near future.
The graphic novel has different section in it, involving five artists, and Murray believes that this technique will give his book a clear edge over other books on the book-sellers shelves.
The first chapter is this dark world, and then it gets a little more light-hearted. We go into the perspective, see this world through the eyes of a 14-year-old girl.” Murray said
