The trend of processional gatherings
Monday, November 21st, 2011 7:37:22 by Anita KhalidThere was a time when the political processions and gatherings were held keeping some high profile cause and agenda in mind, they were considered as pioneer events and were respected, rarely ever negatively criticized.
As this government has broken numerous records, it did not even stay behind in making the political gatherings and processions an esteemed and meaningful event. It has become a regular activity and weekly hobby of many political parties and figures now.
And now even the measure and indicators for the success or failure of these events is carried out in a demented manner, the crowd and the people.
They are a waste of time, effort and energy….something that our nation still fails to understand is that they get ‘used’ during such processions and do not benefit from these to the tiniest bit as the politicians themselves gain from it at the end of the
day and no one else. Resources like security, electricity, fuel and many others just go wasted as these imposters need to maintain their fake images and reputation yet again at the cost and sacrifice of the rest.
These days instead of looking into the reason or rationale behind gathering millions, the political parties and figures just launch out their schedules as if it is the only thing that the people have in their lives and are interested but again of the people
are so very willing then why would they not take the opportunity and the chance that they are always hawking for and looking out to grab.
More than 100,000 supporters gathered as a show of strength in what is traditionally the PML-N stronghold.
PTI chief Imran Khan warned politicians to declare their assets or his party would launch a civil disobedience movement against them.
Speaking on issues plaguing the country, Khan said that his party would stand with minorities and work for the rights of women.
He said PTI would also give the Baloch their rights and “not colonise them.”
And then yesterday it was Nawaz Sharif playing the blame game that they get up to after getting onto that cursed stage of theirs.
